Proofs of these KRUGS. are sure pretty
http://www.apmex.com/Category/1/Gold...ugerrands.aspx
For those who love bullion and a great looking PROOF coin. Best Wishes, HS PS since I started on PROOFS BUFFALOS I've been stuck on the beauty of a PROOF coin - I have. Especially in gold. PS2 - the US Mint sent me a card on Proof gold and UPPED the price to around $830 as I recall. |

Check.
I am a fan of the Krugs, but I had never seen (or even knew about) proof krugs. Very nice - and a fairly small premium as proofs go. |

$100 over spot for an ugly coin made all shiny? No, thanks. I buy Krugs 'cause they're cheap and ugly - the working man's gold. Heck, I'd rather just pay $25 over spot and get a pretty GAE or Panda or something.
But to each his own! I have some very pretty proof 1/4 oz gold Aussie nuggets - I'd sell them for only $50 over spot! |
Re: Proofs of these KRUGS. are sure pretty
well I got no krugers but I recently spent a dollar on a circulated silver coin from SA that was kind of neat, which I fished out of a miscellaneous box at the corner store. LOL I think they had that same ugly dude on on the coin too.
But let me ask, when are they gonna lose that DWM and get a picture of glorious Mandela, or Biko, or Thabo Mebeki on there? And perhaps they can get rid of that duiker or whatever that deerlike thing is and put in a little picture of a shantytown. Time to update that design, to reflect the realities of contemporary "Azania" |

South Africa has a gorgous gold coin series call Natura gold. check'em out here...http://waterfrontmint.com/Natura/NaturaSeries/index.htm

Re: Proofs of these KRUGS. are sure pretty
Paying more for a certain finish on a gold coin reeks too much of the 'service economy' for my tastes
The SA coins are very nice; they have a high premium above spot so look for the bulk lots of well-circulated coins, or PM me, I don't have many though :thumpdown |

Heck Anty, that would be like grandpa's old "original" axe that was passed down through the years from HIS great, great granddad. Only had the handle replaced 5 times through the years, and the head twice !
Any other design, and they wouldn't be "Krugerrands". But we DID call them C. Everett Koop Commemoratives during the Reagan years....... :D |
Re: Proofs of these KRUGS. are sure pretty
I don't mind the plain old Krugs, myself. Lunars sure are gorgeous coins, and I'm also partial to a nice shiny Maple.
But to me, the beauty in a Krug is a big old PILE of them! :bear_w00t: Hope I can get there someday. :applause_ |
Re: Proofs of these KRUGS. are sure pretty
I am partial to anything that is 24K.
I do own a few krugs though. My Krugs will definetly be the first to go when bartering takes effect in this country. See I'm always thinking ahead! :D MLS |
